Sundown Karaoke Night – 27th July 2024 ….. Shades and Moods of a community (organised by the Sri Lankan NSW Catholic Association ) – photos thanks to Claude Perera
The SLNSWCA’s “Sundown Karaoke Night” on Saturday was a resounding success, as a community fun event and a fund raiser for charities in Sri Lanka.
This “sold out” event was hosted at the Don Moore Community Centre, North Rocks.
The evening commenced with a prayer by our Chaplain Fr Treesen, who then led his flock by opening the evening with a beautiful rendition of a hymn.
We showcased over 40 community members & groups showing off their talents, which really made it a true community get-together.
Dinner was an absolute marvel. Again the talents of our community members were showcased with Master Chefs “par excellence” Shivanka & Pramuk aided by a team of sous chefs prepared a feast of “Biriyani” which would have been relished even by the Mughals of past.
The sessions concluded with our traditional Baila dancing to popular songs by our own Bonny Fernando.
A very big thank you from the organizing committee to all who volunteered with help and support and also to all donors to the event.
