‘SYBIL’ – showcasing the art works of Sybil Keyt – by Dodwell Keyt
I am currently writing a book called ‘SYBIL’ which showcases the art works of my sister, Sybil Keyt. The book will contain photographs of her paintings from her early days. It is worth mentioning that Sybil started painting in school using watercolors.
During the interview, we discussed her career and paintings. Despite her talent, her works have been largely overshadowed by her well-known husband, Neville Weereratne.
I am currently seeking photographs of my colleague’s paintings to be included in a book that will be sold on Amazon worldwide. My goal is to showcase as many of her paintings as possible in the book. The book will be in large format (to be decided) and available in hardcopy and ebook formats from Amazon.
I’m interested in obtaining any photos of her paintings that may be useful for my upcoming book. If so, please send them to my email at dkbooks2023@gmail.com.
I would be most gratefully for your help in obtaining these photos. If you own one of her paintings, I would be grateful if you could send me a photo of it.
I have an online storage facility that can be used to upload digital files. I can provide further information to anyone who wishes to use the account to upload files.
I am currently finishing my current book and will be starting on this one in the near future. Thank you for your time.
If you need more information, let me know.
Kind regards
Dodwell Keyt
A further note from Dodwell Keyt regarding the book:
“I started painting during my school days using watercolours on drawing books. Every week, our art teacher would provide us with three topics to choose from, such as a village scene. We worked in groups, but when it was time to submit our paintings, my group members had not completed their work and asked me to do it for them.”
This is how our interview began. During my interview with my sister Sybil, she shared many delightful stories of our time spent in Pepiliyana, Bambalapitiya, and Mt Lavinia. Her recollections of our days in Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, were truly a treasure trove of memories.
My sister Sybil is an incredibly talented artist who has gained worldwide fame for her paintings. Her work reflects the vibrant and colourful island where we grew up as a close-knit family.
In the book titled ‘SYBIL’, my aim is to uncover the hidden talent behind my sister’s art. Through detailed exploration and analysis, I hope to shed light on the unique creativity and skill that my sister possesses. My goal is to showcase her talent to the world and to provide insight into the inspiration and motivation behind her art.
Kind regards
