Teachers’ Day-by Kalani-eLanka
Teachers’ Day is a special occasion celebrated to honour and appreciate the dedication and hard work of teachers who guide us throughout our lives. It is a day to express our gratitude to those who help us gain knowledge, build character, and shape our future. In Sri Lanka, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on October 6th every year, while many countries around the world observe World Teachers’ Day on October 5th.
Teachers are often compared to candles that burn themselves to light the way for others. They inspire students to dream big, think critically, and never give up. A good teacher not only teaches lessons from books but also imparts values such as kindness, honesty, and respect.
On this day, students show their appreciation through speeches, poems, gifts, and various school activities. It is also a time for teachers to reflect on their noble profession and the positive impact they have on society.
Let us all remember that teachers play a vital role in building a better world by nurturing the minds and hearts of the next generation. Happy Teachers’ Day to all the dedicated educators who continue to make a difference!
