In a collaborative effort between Cricket Australia and the Indian Consulate General in Melbourne, the Indian flag was proudly showcased on the digital scoreboard screen inside the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Indian Independence Day. The historic stadium was abuzz with excitement as Cricket Australia presented the ICC ODI World Cup Trophy 2023 in a special ceremony.

The Olympic Room at the MCG was decked out in Indian flags, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the gathered fans. The highlight of the event was the opportunity for Indian fans to take photos with the coveted trophy, a gesture deeply appreciated by the enthusiastic crowd.

The proceedings began with the rendition of the Indian National Anthem, adding to the sense of pride and patriotism. The event was hosted by the Indian Consul General in Melbourne, who welcomed the gathering and praised the spirit of cricket in bringing people together.

As the trophy was displayed, fans thronged to click pictures, creating memorable moments to cherish. The presentation of the trophy is also seen as a gesture to acknowledge the significant presence of Indian cricket fans living in Australia, and to encourage them to book tickets for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, which promises to be an thrilling contest between India and Australia.
