Vision Care in Partnership with KDU Empower Students of Dharmaraja Vidyalaya with Modern IT Laboratory 01

25th September 2025, Colombo:    Vision Care, Sri Lanka’s largest vision, hearing, and eyewear solutions provider, in collaboration with the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), successfully renovated and handed over a fully equipped IT laboratory to Dharmaraja Vidyalaya, Ragama. The initiative reflects Vision Care’s commitment to going beyond eye care and contributing towards the educational advancement of future generations.

The official handover of the IT lab took place recently at Dharmaraja Vidyalaya, with the participation of school staff, students, and representatives from Vision Care and KDU. To further support the school community, Vision Care also organized a free eye camp for both students and teachers. Participants were able to undergo comprehensive eye testing conducted by Vision Care’s expert team, ensuring that vision health is not a barrier to learning.

The newly refurbished IT laboratory has been designed to create an engaging, technology-driven learning environment. It is equipped with modern computers, essential educational software, and contemporary tools to support classroom teaching and learning. For many students, this marks the first time they have had access to hands-on digital learning within a dedicated facility.

By introducing such resources, Vision Care and KDU are helping to bridge the digital divide, enabling students to develop vital Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills. These skills are essential in today’s knowledge-driven economy and provide young learners with a strong foundation for future academic and professional opportunities.

Commenting on the initiative, Kasun Wijesena, Marketing Manager of Vision Care, stated, “This project reflects our vision of going beyond eye care and contributing to the nation’s educational development. By partnering with KDU, we are able to create meaningful opportunities for students to engage with technology, gain vital digital skills, and prepare for a brighter future.”

In addition to the IT lab and eye camp, Vision Care also donated a collection of books to Dharmaraja Vidyalaya. This contribution further enriches the students’ access to knowledge by promoting reading alongside digital learning, fostering a well-rounded educational environment.

Vision Care has long been recognized for its leadership in providing cutting-edge vision, hearing, and eyewear solutions across Sri Lanka. Through initiatives like this, the company continues to expand its impact by addressing broader community needs, particularly in education and health.
