Consul General, Sandith Samarasinghe successfully concluded the series of
investment meeting during the official visit to Adelaide, South Australia

Mr Sandith Samarasinghe, the Consul General for Sri Lanka in Melbourne visited Adelaide, South Australia on Friday 8th September aimed at exploring and fostering investment opportunities between Sri Lanka and South Australia. During the visit, Consul General engaged in a series of investment meeting.

Consul General, Sandith Samarasinghe met with Mr Andrew Kay, the CEO of Business SA, the Chamber of Commerce, and Industry in South Australia. Their discussion focused on promoting Investment by South Australian companies in Sri Lanka and promoting tourism between two countries.

Consul General met with the Honourable Jing Lee MLC, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council and the Shadow Minister for Multicultural South Australia and Tourism, held in the South Australian Parliament House. There was a keen interest for investments in Renewable energy projects in Sri Lanka.

The final meeting was with Hon Nick Champion MP, Minister for Trade, and Investment, Minister for Housing and Urban Development and Minister for Planning. The discussion had a special emphasis on Sri Lanka’s Climate Prosperity Plan and investment in Green Energy initiatives. The Honourable minister also extended his support for the proposed Sri Lanka Tourism Roadshow to be held in Adelaide.

The day concluded with meeting organised by the Ceylon Entrepreneurs Association of South Australia (CEASA) and the Consulate for Sri Lanka in Adelaide on the theme “Business and Investment opportunities in Sri Lanka”. The presentation made by Mr. Sandith Samarasinghe highlighted on the investment opportunities in manufacturing, IT, hospitality, and tourism sectors. There was also presentation on the new Port City development. The event was well attended by more than 50 guests, who were encouraged to link up with the Sri Lanka Commercial office in Melbourne for ongoing collaboration.

Dr.Charitha Perera, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Adelaide arranged and attended all the meetings and faciliated presentations by the Consul General.
