RASHIPRABA SANDEEPANI is a renowned actress and model a native of Moratuwa was born on 27th December 1994 to humble parents, the father was a businessman having owned his own shop having singing skills, actor, film director which have been obviously hereditarily affiliated to Rashiprabha. The father was described by Rashiprabha as her eventual ‘shadow’ who had been behind her success had sacrificed his business activities to accompany for all her activities like rehearsals ,shooting etc . She has one sibling brother five years younger who is also multifaceted.
In school she had been nurtured in drama and singing by her teacher Ganga Paranavithana to whom she owes an enormous amount of gratitude. Through her teachings she had been able to present children’s programs like ‘Tikiri Peya’, ‘Dedunu Hendewa’, ‘Lama Pauwra’ from 2007 for seven years in the ITN channel.This she claims was her first experience facing to the camera For her first teledrama the producer in children’s programs in ITN Chanchala Bulathwatta while at rehearsals at a drama rehearsals for the state drama festival had given a call giving her opportunity to Rashiprabha to portray a role when her face was not known at to many audiences. It was during this time she had received an invitation to portray a role in Dr Ediriweera Sarathchandra’s celebrated drama ‘Sinhabahu’ while still in school .This was made possible to Rashiprabha once again by her drama teacher Ganga Paranavithana.Her parents did not consent for her involvement in dramas as she was still doing higher studies. However later as she was talented in the field of art she had received the parents blessing.
Rashiprabha has over the years captivated vivid audiences with her obsessed outstanding renditions initially in the teledrama field been a sought-after actress exhibiting her acting prowess in depth and conviction. She possesses exquisite dancing flair having learnt the dancing art in school with immense versality in singing and presenting skills. Notable works of her in the small screen that comes to mind of viewers include ‘Race’, ’Shadow’, ‘T 20’,’Palingi-Piyapath’, ’Bithusithium ,”Idora Wessa” more lately ‘Sihina Genena Kumariyo’ which was a mega teledrama.Rashiprabha had portrayed a role in a Tamil teledrama speaking Tamil in ‘Samarapoori’ In all these roles she had portrayed vivid roles with depth, persuasion and confidence for which many accolades were received from both viewers and critics having cultivated a significant strong following on social media. Rashiprabha has swiftly carved a niche for herself in the Sri Lankan entertainment industry. Known lately for her roles in the film ’Nimi’ , opposite stalwarts Roshan Ranawana and Kavinga Perera.
After her portrayal many fans and critics had confessed that Rashiprabha possesses a look of South Indian actresses a bit like Dipika Pallikal as she too possess a slim figure and same complexion as the Indian actress. But she prefers to be called ‘Rashiprabha. In the Indian film Ajay Wardhan Hindi film in year 2022 Rashiprabha had been selected to appear for a song purely for South Indian looks and for her dancing aptitude , again in ‘Visal Adare’ tamil film in year 2024, had appeared for another song., . also had portrayed a role and in another song south Indian film ‘SSS’ starring Jai Akash which proved Rashiprabha’s versatility and talent beyond doubt stamped her class to have made her a favourite figure among audiences and critics alike in India..She has portrayed the lead role in the Sinhalese film ‘Parak’ directed by Dhanushka Ratnayake.The shooting was completed before the Sinhalese new year, immediately after She has had to accept invitations for many Sinhala new years celebration events which she had to accept as an artiste. Two more Sinhalese films she is signed in to portray vivid roles. This film not only highlighted her acting prowess but also her ability to carry a movie with her robust screen presence.
Rashiprabha likes to portray roles in films more than in teledramas, she is not in favour of mega teledramas which consumes her time depriving her to undertake other roles offered. There have been instances that colleague artistes have grabbed roles that were to be given to her which is a typical happening in this field Rashiprabha believes her success to date is owed to her parents and solitary brother for extending their time to accompany her to all locations and events, as such she is very fortunate, also she is given the freedom to perform sans any interference. Rashibrabha when involved in a teledrama is prepared to break rest and be ready to perform with determination in any other work undertaken. For her to keep her figure she as a routine consumes healthy food, take adequate exercises which is her routine daily. She is one who to look special does not use lustful tactics wearing in a manner to expose her body. Of course if she gets to portray a lustful scene, she has no alternative but to accede to the director. In this context as an actress Rashiprabha could portray any role that she is entrusted to her. In today’s world the fashions modifies often in this regard Rashiprabha is always ready to change accordingly. For her fashions she has qualified competent beauticians who are essential for all female artistes. She had confessed that all young and old persons have never said that anything was wrong in her fashioning. For her each birthday she does a photo shoot which have been applauded by her followers’ sans any bad remarks.
