POKEMON GO,& CHANGES, GALORE “TO THE “NAME” OF THIS NEW STUPID “GAME” FOOLISH PEOPLE CHOOSE TO PLAY BEFORE YOU MAIM OR KILL SOMEONE I HAVE “ONE” WORD TO SAY YOU’RE JUST AN “APP”THAT SOME SILLY “SAP” WILL REALIZE ONE DAY I’LL SAY IT NOW, VERY POLITELY:- PLEASE! , “POKEMON GO-AWAY”. I might be wrong, but, for goodness sake, tell me now, never mind about the pre-teenagers, WHY are these so-called SENSIBLE adults wasting time, that can be put to much better use, without “chasing” mythical little Pokemon INSENSIBILITIES & so help me!!, risking their lives & the lives of others as well, going-after the little “go-fers” for the want of a better word. JAZZMEN  EXTRAORDINAIRE – By Des Kelly Monday, the 1st of August,2016, just another Monday, heralding the last month of Winter in our Land Nothing “special” about it EXCEPT that sharp at 8 pm., I switched my television onto Channel 2, in Melbourne to watch “Australian Story”, another favourite “show”of mine, that I can strongly recommend to my “eLanka” readers. Naturally, I do not intend “takng-over” from “the box” & “filling-in” what viewers have quite possibly, already seen, but this particular episode intrigued me, in that, it featured two Aussie musicians DON BURROWS & JAMES MORRISON, who, in my own humble opinion, would “class” as two of the very best, not only in Australia, but in the entire “Music Planet,” as it is, at the moment. Don Burrows, for a start, was a “music-lover” FROM the start. A multi-instrumentalist, he not only lived for music, music, in his sensitive hands, lived for him. I remember ...

Kusal Mendis in full flight against Australia in Pallekelle Sri Lanka is best known for its production of Tea around the globe but it also is known in mining circles for producing the best gemstones in the world, mainly Blue Sapphires and Rubies, and amidst that backdrop they were able to unearth two rare gems in 21-year-old Kusal Mendis and Lakshan Sandakan, the latter a debutant, who produced a glittering display which blinded the high riding Australians into submission in Pallakelle, Kandy. Cholesterol Has Done A U Turn! by Dr. Harold Gunatillake – Health writer The food that is considered bad and contributing to heart disease are those containing high saturated fats and not cholesterol Cholesterol never did a U turn; it was just misrepresented and misunderstood. 80 per cent of the cholesterol required by the body for its metabolic processes, including making of hormones and for cell membranes and others, are made in the liver. Even if you do not eat cholesterol containing fatty foods, the liver can manufacture for its body needs. ...

Majority of Sri Lankans consume boiled food than fried food because they are healthy Dr Hector Perera London The food prepared by frying or grilling are not quite healthy than the food cooked by the method of boiling. Research has revealed that exposure to cooking oil used to fry chips can increase the risk of health more than cooking things by boiling such as cooking rice and curries. Scientists say potentially harmful particles are released into the air when oil is heated to the temperatures needed to cook chips or stir-fries. Unlike in the past now Sri Lankans also got used to eating fried food on regular basis. Present day the places like Battramulla have completely transformed to fit into a modern city with lots of modern buildings such as large supermarkets, restaurants, takeaways and many other types of places. The people are so busy so the only way out ...

IN BLACK & WHITE An English phrase indicating “certainty”, in black and white indicates that something, in fact, anything, that is accomplished perfectly is usually followed in prose with the line, “there is no doubt about it, it’s there, in black & white”.These phrases often convey in brief, what any “Writer” or “Author” who is well-known for his or her publications will describe in numerous paragraphs or thousands of well-chosen “words”. Books of all shapes & sizes, dictionaries in dozens of different languages,.thesaururi or encyclopaedias,Bibles, and the list goes on, all contain millions of words (that take a lot of reading, believe me), but, unless you do read, or, at least, learn to read, life is certainly not worth living. ...

Professional Signs Right at this very moment, I cannot travel. I don’t mind it it at all but there are members of my families, both in Australia and Canada, however, who absolutely LIVE to travel. Show them an airport and before you know it, they have joined a queue to get tickets to enplane and go somewhere, ANYWHERE, just as long as it is Iternationally. When they get back from their travels, I can well understand why they enjoy this rather expensive hobby so much, because, in addition to “seeing the World”& learning about the history and “cultures” of other peoples, they tell me about the many wonderful “professional signs” they have seen & I would love to share some of these hilarious “works” with my readers because, friends, a smile relaxes every muscle on your face, and I promise that you will feel all the better or it. Here ...
