‘Tis the season to be festive and safe! As the world looks toward celebrating another Christmas in the midst of COVID-19, the dedicated team at Dialog Axiata PLC are ringing in the festive spirit with the launch of the ‘Dialog Digital Christmas Zone’. This 3D- interactive virtual winter wonderland was launched on December 20 at the Dialog Auditorium by husband and wife singing duo Rookantha Gunathilake and Chandralekha Perera, Rector of St.Joseph’s College, Nugegoda, Rev. Fr. Lakmin Silva and Group Chief Technology Officer at Dialog Axiata PLC, Pradeep De Almeida. The portal can be accessed via Christmas.dialog.lk until December 31, 2021.

Bringing Christmas cheer and merriment during times of change, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider is enabling Sri Lankans across the country with an engaging experience to celebrate Christmas via a web platform from the comfort and safety of their homes. Available in both English and Sinhala, ‘Dialog Digital Christmas Zone’ comes equipped with activities which the whole family can take part in, including; writing a letter to Santa (visitors can send Santa their Christmas Wishlist and selected winners will stand a chance to receive exciting prizes), listening to Christmas songsby Rookantha Gunathilake and Family, Christmas Karaoke (visitors can sing and record their own versions of well-loved Christmas songs), watch the “Naththale Asiriya” series (10 short stories showcasing the origin of Christmas and customs associated with Christmas), win prizes by playing Christmas mini-games and also enjoy exciting seasonal offers from Dialog.

Rector of St. Joseph’s College, Nugegoda, Rev. Fr. Lakmin Silva exuberated over the unveiling of the platform, stating “I am pleased to be a part of the launch of the Dialog Digital Christmas Zone, and I am grateful to Dialog for extending its support in bringing these initiatives to life as they help nurture and foster new experiences to share with your family which is integral during these disruptive times which see us distancing from the world and those we love more often. I would like to encourage the public to join in the festivities, educate themselves about the season and celebrate this time with those you love via this interactive, informative and innovative web platform”

“Dialog has presented a wonderfully innovative creation in the form of the Dialog Digital Christmas Zone as it has a range of activities for adults and kids” veteran singer, Rookantha Gunathilake was quoted saying. He further added, “This is something unique to the country and I am grateful to Dialog for pioneering this initiative and bringing it to life for all Sri Lankans as this will be a key enabler in lifting spirits during these uncertain times”.

The Dialog Digital Christmas Zone can be freely accessed via Christmas.dialog.lk. The portal will be open to the public until December 31, 2021.
