DEMISE OF TERENCE WIJESOORIYA FOREMELY OF OMAN TELECOMMUINACTIONS FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Yasmin and I were stunned & shocked to learn with sadness the demise of our great friend Terence Wijesooriya.
He was an amazing friend and was constantly in touch with us till last Sunday September 10 2023. We never thought in our wildest dreams he would leave us so soon.
Terence was a wonderful colleague of mine and extended great support to me as his Section Head when we worked in the Finance Department of Oman Telecommunications.
His sentiments below were very touching when Yasmin & wished him and his adorable Spouse Meloni on their 42nd Anniversary on February 7 2023

Thank you very much for the kind wishes; it brings back nostalgic memories of our days in Muscat when we were working hard & at the same time trying to go on leave.
I can recall giving a round of cakes to the staff when my leave was approved by Simon Scott for the wedding. When I gave him a piece of cake he took it & said that he will give it back to me if I did not complete the Stock Take Report to HE The President. It was tough going & I finished it successfully to the satisfaction of Simon Scott.
Thank you very much again for all the support that you two gave me from time to time in Muscat, I will never forget them. The memories of Oman days will always remain with us. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.

He was instrumental in working with the Late Mr Neil Soysa to establish the Sri Lankan Community Social Club of Oman where I subsequently served as Secretary till I left Oman in 2002
We pray that the Divine & Merciful Lord will give Melonie, her sons Sampath & Nalaka and their bereaved Family the Strength to face this moment of grief very courageously.
We shall remember him in our Prayers. May his Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
