In a commanding performance, 21-year-old Neyara defeated Zoe Theodorakopoulos to secure her first tournament victory on Australian soil in straight sets (7-5/ 6-4) at the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club, Toorak.
Currently pursuing her higher studies in Australia, Neyara has seamlessly balanc ed her academics with competitive tennis, showcasing her talent and determination on the court. This remarkable achievement in her debut tournament in Australia is a testament to her dedication, skill, and competitive spirit.
“I am thrilled to have won my first tournament here in Australia. It was a great experience competing at the RSY Club Championship, and I look forward to more opportunities to challenge myself and grow as a player,” said Neyara after her victory.

Neyara’s success in this prestigious championship not only highlights her potential on the international stage but also serves as an inspiration to young Sri Lankan athletes aspiring to make a global impact.
Her journey continues as she sets her sights on upcoming competitions, determined to elevate her game further and represent Sri Lanka on bigger platforms.
