The revered Siri Dalada Vandanawa, a special public exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic, officially commences today (April 18) at 12:30 p.m. This sacred event is taking place after a hiatus of 16 years, offering devotees a rare opportunity to pay homage to one of the most sacred relics in Buddhism.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to attend the inauguration ceremony, underscoring the national significance of the occasion. A number of foreign diplomats will also be present, with special transport arrangements— including a dedicated train service from Colombo to Kandy—made for their convenience.

The event is being held at the historic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, under the spiritual guidance of the Chief Prelates of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters, and the direction of the Diyawadana Nilame.

The exposition will continue until April 27, giving devotees ample time to participate. On the opening day (April 18), the public can pay homage from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thereafter, from April 19 to April 27, the Sacred Relic will be accessible daily from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
