Vision Care Recognized as a Superbrand Reaffirming its Leadership in Eye Care Excellence

Vision Care, Sri Lanka’s largest vision, hearing and eyewear solutions provider, has been recognized as a Superbrand for 2025, marking a significant milestone in its journey of delivering trusted, high quality eye care to communities across the island.

Superbrands is the world’s independent arbiter of branding, celebrating the strongest and most valuable brands that demonstrate a clear advantage in their category and a meaningful connection with consumers. In Sri Lanka, participation in the Superbrands programme is by invitation only, and brands awarded Superbrand status are selected following evaluation by the Superbrands Council, a panel comprising experts from the fields of branding, marketing, design and advertising, supported by extensive research into market performance and consumer perception. This recognition enhances a brand’s standing and reassures customers and stakeholders that they are engaging with a proven industry leader

The selection process follows a rigorous merit-based methodology. Independent research and expert assessment ensure that only brands with strong market presence, consistent performance and high levels of consumer trust are honoured. Criteria such as quality, reliability and emotional connection with customers are key considerations, making the Superbrand title a credible symbol of excellence.

Commenting on the achievement, Kasun Wijesena, Marketing Manager of Vision Care, said, “Being recognized as a Superbrand is a proud moment for us at Vision Care. It reflects the trust our customers place in us and our commitment to delivering excellence through vision, quality and compassion. This recognition motivates us to keep raising the bar in eye care for every Sri Lankan.”

Founded in February 1992, Vision Care set out to revolutionize Sri Lanka’s eye care industry. Over the past three decades, the company has evolved into the country’s leading provider of scientifically driven, world class eye care solutions, supported by a team of experienced optometrists and advanced diagnostic technology.

Today, Vision Care offers a comprehensive range of internationally acclaimed spectacles, sunglasses, and contact lenses, catering to diverse lifestyles and budgets. The company’s operations are guided by five core pillars, originality, technology, accessibility, sustainability and people, which continue to shape its growth and market leadership.

The company has consistently invested in its people, fostering a culture of inclusivity and professional development. With the establishment of the Vision Care Academy in 2008, the organization provides world-class in-house training in optometry, ensuring the continuous development of skilled professionals across its network.

Beyond its commercial success, Vision Care remains deeply committed to social responsibility. Its flagship community initiative Nethralokana Sathkara has provided free spectacles to deserving individuals across the island, reflecting its mission to improve lives through better vision.

As Vision Care continues to expand its branch network and embrace new technologies, the Superbrand recognition stands as a testament to its enduring promise to deliver exceptional eye care to Sri Lanka today and for generations to come.
