ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ මාධ්යවේදී ප්රියන්ත ප්රදීප් රණසිංහ විසින් ‘ණය ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදය : ශ්රී ලංකාව -සිරස්තලවලින් ඔබ්බට’ නමින්, සිංහලට නගන ලද, පාකිස්ථාන බහු මාධ්ය ජනමාධ්යවේදිනී, බීනා සාර්වාගේ ‘Democracy in Debt: Sri Lanka – Beyond the Headlines’, අන්තර්ජාතික වාර්තා චිත්රපටය, මාතර – පහළ අතුරළිය, කටපොතුවිල විහාරස්ථානයේ, තිලක් විජේසේකර පුස්තකාල ගොඩනැගිල්ලේදී, 2025 අගෝස්තු 19 අඟහරුවාදා ප්රදර්ශනය කෙරුණි.
එම අවස්ථාවට, බීනා සාර්වා සහ ප්රියන්ත ප්රදීප් රණසිංහද එක් වූ අතර, චිත්රපටය හා මාධ්යවේදය පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡාවක්ද පැවැත්විණි.ගුවන් විදුලි සංස්ථාවේ ප්රවීණ නිවේදක, සංජය මුතුමුණි සහ බල ශක්තිය, කසළ කළමනාකරණය, කුඩා හා මධ්ය පරිමාණ කර්මාන්ත සම්බන්ධ උපදේශක, ඉංජිනේරු දමිත සමරකෝන්, ප්රතිභා මීඩියා නෙට්වර්ක් හි ප්රධානි, චමින්ද ජයසේකර යන මහත්තුරුද, ප්රාදේශීය මාධ්යවේදීහුද, මාධ්ය සාක්ෂරතා සමාජයේ සාමාජිකයෝ, ප්රදේශවාසීහුද මීට එක්ව සිටියහ.
ඉංග්රීසි භාෂා ආචාර්ය ප්රියංගි ගමගේ මහත්මියගේ සම්බන්ධීකරණයෙන්, මෙය සංවිධානය කර තිබුණේ, මාතර ප්රතිභා මාධ්ය ජාලයට අනුබද්ධිත, අතුරලිය,මාධ්ය සාක්ෂරතා සමාජයයි.
මුල් චිත්රපටයේ සම රචනයට සහ සම අධ්යක්ෂණයට දායක වූ ආචාර්ය සිංහරාජ තම්මිට දෙල්ගොඩගේ ඉල්ලීම මත, සිංහල අනුවාදය සකස් වූ අතර, මෙය උර්දු භාෂාවටද පරිවර්තනය වී ඇත.
මීට පෙර, ජන මාධ්ය අමාත්යවරයා වෙත ප්රදර්ශනය කළ මෙම වාර්තා චිත්රපටයේ සිංහල අනුවාදය, ශ්රී ජයවර්ධනපුර සරසවියේ,කොළඹ ශ්රී ලංකා පුවත්පත් ආයතනයේද ප්රදර්ශනය කෙරිණි.

Senior journalist Priyantha Pradeep Ranasinghe adapted to Sinhala, ‘Democracy in Debt: Sri Lanka – Beyond the Headlines’ international documentary film by Pakistani multimedia journalist Beena Sarwar, was screened at the Tilak Wijesekera Library Building, Katapothuwila Viharaya, Pahala Athuraliya, Matara on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Beena Sarwar and Priyantha Pradeep Ranasinghe also joined the event, and a discussion was held on the film and journalism. Veteran broadcaster of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Sanjaya Muthumuni and consultant on energy, waste management, SMI, Engineer Damitha Samarakoon, head of Prathibha Media Network, Chaminda Jayasekara, correspondants, members of the Media Literacy Society and villagers also participated in this.
This was organized by the Athuraliya Media Literacy Society, affiliated to the Matara Prathibha Media Network, under the coordination of English language teacher Mrs. Priyangi Gamage.
At the request of Dr. Sinharaja Tammita-Delgoda, who contributed to the co-writing and co-direction of the original film, a Sinhala version was prepared, and this has also been translated into Urdu.
The Sinhala version of this documentary, which was previously screened at the Minister of Mass Media, was also screened at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Sri Lanka Press Institute, Colombo.
