මළ මුහුද ආශ්‍රිත ආගමික පුරාවෘත්ත-by Gamini Kariyawasam   Source:Lankadeepa ළානිල් අහස් කුස මුහුද හා යාවන ඉමේ, ජෙරුසම දෙසින් පිහිටි කඳු වළල්ල හිරු රැස් පතිත වීමෙන් ඈතට දිස්වන්නේ රන් පැහැයෙනි. එම රුවන්මුවා ප්‍රදේශය වසා පැතිරී මහ සයුර, මීදුමින් වැසුණු නිසල තැනිතලාවක් විලසින් මිනිස් සිත සොම්නස දල්වනසුලුය. සයුර ඉම තැනින් තැන උස්ව නැගුණු කිරි පැහැ ගල් තලාවක් වඩාත් සමීපව පරික්ෂා කරන්නකුට ඒ ලුණුවලින් සුසැදි ජල තලාවක් බව දිස්වේ.    කලකට ඉහත විදේශ කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අමාත්‍යාංශයේ සේවයෙහි නිරතව සිටි කාලයේ මට කිසියම් රාජකාරි කටයුත්තක් සඳහා ජෝර්දානයට යාමට සිදුවිය. එහිදී දැකගන්නට ලැබුණු ස්වභාව ධර්මයාගේ ආශ්චර්යමත් නිමැයුමක් වූ මළ මුහුද එදවස මා සිතේ සිත්තම් වූයේ එපරිද්දෙනි.    එහිදී මා නෙත් ගැටුණු දසුන්, අසා දැන ගත් තොරතුරු සහ ශාස්ත්‍රීය ලේඛන පරිශීලනයෙන් උකහා ගනු ලැබු දැනුම් සම්භාරය උපයෝගීත්වයෙන් මෙම ලිපිය සැකසිණි.    ජලජ ජීවීන්ගෙන් හා පැළෑටීන්ගෙන් තොරවීම නිසා මළ මුහුදට එම නම ව්‍යාවහාරිත ය. මළ මුහුද පිහිටියේ ජෝර්දානයේ අගනුවර වූ අම්මාන් හී සිට කි.මී. 70ක පමණ දුරින් වූ මැසඩා ප්‍රදේශයෙහිය. පෘථිවි පෘෂ්ඨයේ පහළම ස්ථානය ලෙසින් සැලකෙන මළ මුහුද, සාමාන්‍ය මුහුදු මට්ටමේ සිට මීටර් 400ක් පහළින් නිර්මාණය වී ඇත. මෙම සුවිසල් ජල තටාකය බටහිරින් ජුඩියස් කඳුපෙළ දක්වාද නැගෙනහිරින් මෝබ් කඳුයාය දක්වාද පැතිරී පවතී.    ක්‍රි. පූර්ව 3 වන සියවසේ පෞරාණික ජුඩියාවේ (වත්මන් පලස්තීනයේ) රාජ්‍යත්වයට පත් මහා හොරොඩ් සිය කඳුකර බළකොටුව ඉදිකළේද මළ මුහුදට ඔබ්බෙන් වූ මසාදා උස් බිමෙහිය. අනාගත වක්තෲන් අතින් පරණ තෙස්තමේන්තුව ලියවිල්ලක් බවට පත් වන්නෙත් ඉපැරණි නෙබ්යුලා කඳුකරය ආශ්‍රිත ප්‍රදේශයෙහිය. මළ මුහුද ආසන්නයෙහිම පිහිටි උණුදිය උල්පත් පහසින් සිය රන් පැහැ සිරුර ඔපවත් කර ගැනීම හා මළ මුහුදේ සෞන්දර්යකාමී උන්මාදනීය අසිරියත් වින්දනයත් උදෙසා ක්ලියෝපැට්රාවන් අතීතයේ දී මෙම පෙදෙසට නිරන්තරයෙන් පැමිණි බව ද වාර්තා වේ.   ...
