Cricket Australia Launches Multicultural Action Plan (CA) has released its Multicultural Action Plan to create further engagement and inclusion in all areas of Australian Cricket and continue the game’s mission to be a Sport for All. The Plan is the result of thousands of hours of consultation with members of local communities to help understand the current state of connection including ongoing successes and potential challenges. As part of the research, there was a specific focus on understanding the experiences of South Asian communities in cricket. As the fastest growing demographic in Australia, people of South Asian heritage are considered critical to the game’s growth in all areas including decision making and volunteerism. However, the initiatives outlined in the plan are targeted at all culturally diverse communities and the initiatives will benefit the inclusion of all such groups. The plight of Christians in Bethlehem and Jerusalem predates the latest Gaza war :Their number is continuing to dwindle Source:Economist This year’s nativity scene in Bethlehem depicts a baby swaddled in a Palestinian kefiyeh (a chequered headdress) resting on a heap of rubble. It is hard to spot the wise men, frankincense, or myrrh. The war in Gaza has prompted a drastic scaling back of celebrations in the West Bank. No banquets, no traditional parades of Boy Scouts, no pilgrims. Bethlehem is silent. Christmas in the land where Jesus Christ was born has, in effect, been cancelled. Gaza’s dwindling community of Palestinian Christians has been hard hit since October 7th. At least 16 were killed in an air raid that damaged the church of St Porphyrius, Gaza city’s oldest. Pope Francis called Israel’s actions in Gaza “terrorism” after a Christian mother and daughter were shot dead as they sheltered in a church compound. Church leaders ...

Kadupul Flower : the priceless flower Source : 101thatchangetheworl The Kadupul flower, Sri Lanka’s native blossom, is said to be the world’s most expensive flower. Why? Because it’s priceless! This floral specie is so expensive; it bares no price tag. The reason for this is because the moment it is picked, it quite often dies. Due to its cactus roots, each and every Kadupul flower has an extremely short lifespan and is only able to survive the night, before it fades to nothing at dawn. Despite this, the Kadupul’s fragrance is celebrated worldwide for its calming qualities. Unfortunately, the only way to experience this flower’s wonderful scent is to buy a bottle of Kadupul-inspired perfume, and unless you’re extremely lucky, most will never have the chance to revel in its soothing fragrance – which is also known as the midnight miracle. Often nicknamed the Flower from the Heaven, the Queen of the ...
