Happy Thanksgiving Day – 2022 – By Noor Rahim
Yes! It is just a few days more for Thanksgiving
To thank the Good Lord for the food He provides
But that’s for the fortunate who have the resources to purchase
But how often does one give thanks other than the “Holiday”, for reminding
Soon we feast to celebrate the “Holiday” with all the food & trimmings
And do most of us really pause a moment before one eats
To say a prayer of thanks before one partakes
Or invoke the Blessings of The Almighty before ingesting
Have you ever given thought to the poor and their suffering
For whom every morsel is a Blessing that satisfies
For remember dear Reader the poor always Blesses you in acceptance
In addition, looks up at the High Heavens in acknowledging
That The Almighty has helped them in their need and seeking
We the fortunate, should follow the example of the poor in our quests
For the favours from The Almighty for the food we need for sustenance
And never to forget, to give thanks to The Almighty, for the victual that is satisfying
