Sri Lanka’s revival – By Dr harold Gunatillake

I have just come to visit and live in Sri Lanka, as it is still one of the best countries to live in. There are no petrol queues, and the roads are chock a block with vehicles, drivers creeping through any space on the road without vehicular collisions. In the face of the economic crisis in a country with high inflation, life goes well in the cities, with the usual hustle and buzz.

We spent one evening and a night at the Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo. I sat in the lobby and watched the number of guests entering and strolling around, some chatting in groups, others walking with families, enjoying a relaxed ambience. From the attires of the men and women, I got the impression they were visitors to the country, come for a holiday. There were many locals, too. It was delightful to see so many foreign tourists flocking in and keep this hotel active and lively.

Walk into Chutneys, one of the most sophisticated Indian restaurants in Colombo, to indulge your taste buds with authentic Indian flavours at this hotel.

Dinner at Chutney is a must when you visit this hotel. Delicious Indian Food

The ideal place to enjoy an authentic, tasty Indian meal. Good choice of different meals and excellent service. The ambience and place are peaceful and relaxing—a must-visit for all Moghul food lovers. Menu pricing is reasonable. I stroll down towards the basement on the south end of the hotel, and to my surprise, I entered the Nuga Gama open-air restaurant,

The village in the city – Nuga Gama, doesn’t just serve an authentic Sri Lankan meal. When you enter the village, you will experience details that make you forget you’re in the middle of bustling Colombo.

Nuga Gama is open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon – 2:30 pm and dinner daily from 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm. I visited the village on a Sunday before the arrival of the guests. It is the most relaxing atmosphere in the village that you couldn’t believe such an experience in the heart of Colombo .

Our room was comfortable, and after sleeping the night, the breakfast the following day was incredible. The array of foods, including international cuisines, extended from one hall’s end to the other. As usual hot hoppers are a speciality.

This 5-star hotel is the best one in the city of Colombo. Visit this venue and share my adventure.
The following day we drove to Kandy, where our home is.

Please share this short youtube with me, and next time you plan your holidays in Sri Lanka, be sure to book this homely hotel in Colombo.
