“SUCH IS LIFE” – by Des Kelly

One of Australia’s most famous (or notorious), if you prefer him as such, was Ned Kelly, Outlaw & Bushranger, as they preferred to call them, in Oz. Ned, like your’s truly, came from an Irish background, Dublin, in fact, and got himself the reputation of being an Australian Robin Hood. He stole from the rich to give to the poor. The rich were not too happy about this, and decided to give Ned a hard time. This is not the complete story, obviously, but still an apt intro. Into this amazing video, sent to us by Keith Bennett via Suntha, someone who thankfully shortened his Surname, so that everyone could pronounce it correctly.

Anyway, when they finally caught up with old Ned, they escorted him to the old Melbourne gaol, or jail, if you prefer it as such, and hanged him by the neck, until he was dead.

What has this got to do with “Such Is Life”??, you ask.

Well, people, ordinary, in general, and members/readers of e’Lanka, in particular, when the hangman/executioner gave Ned a hood for his head and placed this heavy rope/noose

around his neck, Ned Kelly knew that it was finally all over,

and his FINAL WORDS WERE. “SUCH IS LIFE”.

Thankfully again, Suntha’s Story is completely different, so I would urge all of you good people to watch this astounding video which also talks about life in a differnt perspective.

Even more interesting is the fact that it gives everyone concerned, another in-depth look at this very strange, but wonderful International Language that is ENGLISH.
