SUNDAY CHOICE - PRAYING FOR OTHERS – by Charles Schokman

There is a misconception that only certain people are called or gifted to be intercessory prayer warriors. There are people in our churches and our lives who seem to have that special intimate connection with God. They are relentless when it comes to praying for others. The truth is we are all called to pray for others.

In Ezekiel 22:30, God is searching for those who would stand in the gap, to intercede for others. The invitation is for all Christians to serve through intercessory prayer. Praying for others is not a choice; it is our privilege.  Whether we believe it or not, we are all equipped to be prayer warriors on behalf of others. We are heirs with Christ. We are adopted sons and daughters and therefore possess the same power and access to God that our Saviour enjoys. We can whisper, or cry out, and offer our requests to our Heavenly Father, and He hears us. Sharing in the inheritance of Jesus, we are called high priests with a direct connection to God and an opportunity to offer up prayers on behalf of family, friends, neighbours, government officials, and our nation. The words do not have to be perfect, only spoken through love and trust in a God who hears and answers.

SUNDAY CHOICE - PRAYING FOR OTHERS – by Charles Schokman

When we pray for someone else it draws us closer in relationships. Praying for your spouse, child, or friend helps them to see how much you love them. Almost no one you meet will decline being prayed over. Offering to pray for someone is a free and powerful gift you can give to anyone you meet.

Most people will say yes and appreciate your heart for them, even if they aren’t sure that there is a God who exists. When you hear a need or a dream, offer to pray over that for them. Most people are in favour of being prayed for and are amazed when God shows up.

Galatians 6:2 tells us, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Praying for one another is a powerful way for us to bear one another’s burdens. Taking another’s hand and praying for them is a powerful blessing you can give another person.

James 5:16. tells us,” Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.

I have offered this prayer to all my email contacts in the belief that God heals.

May you be Blessed with His healing.

Also pray for me as I nurse severe back pains (Arthritis of the spine).

YOU ARE WELCOME TO PASS THIS ON.
