SUNDAY CHOICE: What does it mean “In Christ Alone”? – By Charles Schokman Being in Christ alone means we sacrifice self to submit entirely to Him, and we expel anything from our lives that make us put our hope and faith elsewhere. St Paul had this to say- (1 Corinthians 15:1) “Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, In Christ alone!” Our Hope in Christ Alone is further expounded in Psalm 62. “1 For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.  2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.  3 How long will all of you attack a man, to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?  4 They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly, they curse.  5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – Give them all to Jesus – By Charles Schokman Years ago a man name Phil Johnson wrote a song that literally took much of Christianity by storm. It was entitled, ”Give them all to Jesus.” Here are the lyrics: Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows? Are you tired of spinning round and round? Wrap up all the shattered dreams of your life and at the feet of Jesus lay them down. He never promised you’d always see sunshine. He never promised there’d be no more rain. He only promised a heart from of singing about the very things that once brought pain. Give them all, give them all, give them all to Jesus; Shattered dreams, wounded hearts, and broken toys. Give them all, give them all, give them all to Jesus; And He will turn your sorrow into Joy. With this lyric, Phil is calling us ...

PRINCE OF PEACE CHRISTIANITYISME (The Narrow Path) – By Lakshman Navaratne 4 billion humans alive on this earth, operating in the name of Christ, will comprehend the imagination of the writer’s precept of the “Prince of Peace”. Nobody is a Christian, unless one has received the Baptism of Pentecost![A] This is the same Baptism, Jesus born of Mary, received at the age of 30 at the banks of the river Jordon, while been immersed in the water. The baptism of repentance, through John the Baptist, Baptism of the Spirit through the Maker of Humanity. Only scripture have the truth written in letter, reason why we have to Die? Only Scripture says we were made in the image of our Maker, our Maker is Eternal and so are we, should also be eternal? The wisdom of the Scripture documents “wage of Sin is death”. Since Adam losing the ingredient “Faith” in ...

IMAGINE THIS IN YOUR BLOOD! CLIMAX OF DARKNESS IN THE LIGHT OF Christ – By Lakshman Navaratne Scripture documents “Darkness was separated from Light, not destroyed?”. Today, in the hearts of 9 billion humans living on earth, this Spirit of Darkness is operating as the “Prince of this earth”. Violence at its peak! {The writer of this article, is convinced without a shadow of doubt in his heart, that the reader will comprehend this hidden revelation in scripture; only if the reader has received the Baptism of Pentecost? Also, removes from his mind the concepts and arguments, presented through science and theology, beautifully-animated to hide the truth of human suffering.} THE CLIMAX OF DARKNESS IS NOT DEATH; IT IS WHAT LEADS TO THIS EVENT THROUGH HUMAN SUFFERING. WRITTEN IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AS “SIN”. The Scripture documents “wage of sin is Death”!  THIS IS THE SILENT KILLER OF THE HUMAN BODY. ...

“I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA THE FIRST AND THE LAST” THE SOVEREIGN – By Lakshman Navaratne YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT I WILL DESTROY THIS TEMPLE AND RE-BUILD IN THREE DAYS! TEMPLE #3 John 2:19, “Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” This event and the moment in the life of Jesus with his Apostles is documented in all four Gospels. SUNDAY CHOICE – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation – by Charles Schokman 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;  old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Being a child Everyone understands what it means to be a child – we have been born from a mother and father. As babies and toddlers we are completely dependent on our parents – to love us feed us, teach us and help us to grow into responsible adults. God created us all and so we are all children of God. But sadly we have all rebelled and sin has broken our relationship with the Father. God is continually calling out to his children to return to Him, so that the father/child relationship can be restored. John 3:3 says “unless you are born again you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven”. Nicodemus, the man to whom Jesus ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – PRAYING FOR OTHERS – by Charles Schokman There is a misconception that only certain people are called or gifted to be intercessory prayer warriors. There are people in our churches and our lives who seem to have that special intimate connection with God. They are relentless when it comes to praying for others. The truth is we are all called to pray for others. In Ezekiel 22:30, God is searching for those who would stand in the gap, to intercede for others. The invitation is for all Christians to serve through intercessory prayer. Praying for others is not a choice; it is our privilege.  Whether we believe it or not, we are all equipped to be prayer warriors on behalf of others. We are heirs with Christ. We are adopted sons and daughters and therefore possess the same power and access to God that our Saviour enjoys. We can whisper, or cry out, ...

Our Parents Showed Us The Way At Christmas And Always – By Lawrence Machado All our lives there is someone telling us what to do, some for our own good,  while others can lead us on the wrong path. Fortunately, in the lives of my six siblings – Axie, Rienzie, Sally, Veronica, Belinda, Fortuna – and I, we had amazing parents and grandparents to guide us on the correct path and instill in us lifelong lessons which hold true to this day. It’s particularly nostalgic to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us during Christmas. My happy Christmas memories in Sri Lanka were all thanks to our parents, Rosario and Margaret Machado, who always made sure the birth of Christ was a special and life-changing moment for all of us. I remember fondly Dad and Mum closing their room door to pack our gifts while there was always ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – Jesus is living in me “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. “It means you have authority over your flesh and the enemy of your soul. It means you live to please God not self. It means dying to self and living to do his will. It means you walk in faith not fear. It means you love God and the Kingdom of God. It means inviting Him to every part of your life and day. It means trusting, believing and depending on God and His Word. It means treating others as you want to be treated. It means hating sin as God does. It means seeing others as God ...

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF – SUNDAY CHOICE – by Charles Schokman “For all of us who lived the Christian faith, we have definitely heard the phrase “Love Your Neighbour As Yourself.” But what does it really mean to love your neighbor as yourself? Do we truly understand the way Jesus Christ intended? How to Love Your Neighbour as Yourself. When Christ was asked what the greatest of all the commandments was, it was not asked in earnest by someone who sincerely wanted to know. Rather, it was asked by someone who considered himself to be an expert in the law of the prophets, who only wanted to test Jesus.  When this question “Who is my neighbour?”  was put to Jesus by a Pharisee. Instead of giving a direct answer, Jesus Christ turned the question on the Pharisee by telling the parable of the Good Samaritan.— https://www.samaritaninns.org/parable/ So with Christ’s answer of ...
