Who is Jesus?

Jesus is both God and man, who came to Earth to rescue us from the brokenness in our lives and world. As the Son of God, He lived among us over 2000 years ago and showed love to all people.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.

Our World

We live in a broken world, surrounded by broken lives, relationships and systems. This is seen in suffering, violence, poverty, and pain around us. Brokenness is the result of sin – the things that people have done and will do, that hurt ourselves, others and God.

New Life

God does not leave us in our brokenness, but sent his son Jesus to restore us. Jesus did for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He took our sin and shame to the cross, paying the penalty of our sin by His death. Jesus was then raised from the dead to provide the only way for us to be rescued and restored to a relationship with God.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17.

Saying Yes to Jesus

Simply hearing who Jesus is, is not enough. We need to admit our sinful brokenness, ask for forgiveness, and place our trust in Him. You can do this simply by praying these words.

“Dear Jesus, Thank you for who you are and that you love me. I recognise that because of my sin, I need you and I ask you to forgive me. I believe you came to live, die, and rise again from the dead to rescue me from my sin. I choose to make you my Lord and Saviour, and to follow you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Pray this clip will further help you to understand “What He’s Done” for us.

In the Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the holy season of Lent, a time for reflection and

repentance in preparation for the celebration of Easter. Christians from many denominations recognise the holy season for 40 days leading up to Easter. This year we observed Ash Wednesday on 14th February 2024.

Read more about it and be blessed.

You are welcome to pass this on.
