The highlight was the participation of renowned vocalist Sohan Weerasinghe who duetted with our own Bony Fernando to mesmerize the audience ably assisted by the Redemtion band . The Children of ‘Muthuhara’ Children’s Society Sydney portrayed an absorbing play coordinated by Niluki Gunaratne which was splendidly choreographed by Peoly Gunaratne. To startle and amaze the children, Santa Claus was in attendance with all his glory. The Baptist church choir delighted those present with soothing singing. You definitely had an amazing time while you were growing up. I also recall fondly the Christmas days I spent in Sri Lanka. I lived in a town that was equally populated with Christians. My wonderful neighbors with nine children were Christians. Their Christmas celebrations were elaborate. Being as curious as I am, I would always actively participate in their celebrations, including joining them and going around my town visiting various households singing the Carol.
