These were the real pioneer SCUBA divers of Sri Lanka – by Rex I. De Silva In view of some recent internet discussions as to who the pioneer SCUBA divers of Sri Lanka were, I list herewith my findings. I should point out that as the Honorary Secretary of the Reefcombers of Ceylon (ROC) I knew most of the individuals mentioned here and dived with many of them. Those whose names appear in bold type were members of the ROC, non-members’ names appear in plain text. Those whose names are followed by an asterisk are the few pioneer Reefcombers who survive to date. (Names are listed in alphabetical order of the surnames). SCUBA divers prior to 1952. She must have seen the flicker of doubt on my face. “Cottage cheese,” she quipped, stressing on the cheese, before she told me how she had coaxed the recipe out of a friend. What my aunt turned ...

Trinity Rugby 1st XV 1984: The Guts and the Glory by Z. Kamil Mohamed   Source:Island A global cricketing icon once said “At Trinity; Rugby players are special, and I… was only a cricketer”.
