Ingredients:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup hot water or coffee (hot water enhances the chocolate flavor)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil or melted butter, and vanilla extract.
