සිනිමාව දිග් විජය කළ එච්.ඩී.ප්‍රේමරත්න. – By ආචාර්ය ගාමිණී කාරියවසම්. එච්.ඩී.ප්‍රේමරත්න-හපුආරච්චිගේ දොන් ප්‍රේමරත්න – දිවි සිනිමාවෙන් නික්ම ගොස් මෙම දෙසැම්බර් 26 වන දිනට 18 වසරක් සපිරේ. හෙතෙම  කැලණිය ගුරුකුල විද්‍යාලයේ එකම පන්තියේ මා සමග එකට සිප් සතර හැදෑරීය. ඔහු පිළිබදව මෙවන් සටහනක් තැබීම කෙරෙහි මා සිත් නිරායාසයෙන් ම යොමුවූයේ ,හෙතෙම මගේ පාසල් මිතුරෙක්වූ නිසාම නොවේ.  ඔහු වෙතින් ලංකේය සිනිමාවට ඉටුවූ අනල්පවූ මෙහෙවර ඇගයීම උදෙසාය.ගුරුකුලයේ  මාලණී ෆොන්සේකා ,විමල් කුමාර් ද කොස්තා, පතිරාජ දයානන්ඳ ,ඩොනල්ඩ් කරුණාරත්න වන් සිංහල සිනිමාව එකළු කළ ශිල්පීන් එච්.ඩී.ප්‍රේමරත්න සිනිමා වේදියාගේ සමකාලීන සගයන්ය. එච්.ඩී. ප්‍රේමරත්නයන් කදුළු අතරින් සිනාසුනු කලාකරුවෙකි. 1944 ජනවාරි 27  දින ප්‍රේමරත්න ජන්ම ලාභය ලබන්නේ වත්තල තෙලගපාත ගම් පියසෙ හිය. එච්.ඩී. එලෝසිඤ්ඤෝ සහ ඩබ්.කේ. මැඩ්ලින් නෝනා  ඔහු දෙමාපියන්ය. කුඩා විය ගුරුකුල විදුහලට සමු දෙන  ඔහු උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය සදහා පිවිසෙන්නේ මරදාන ශ්‍රීලංකා විද්‍යාලය වෙතය.උසස්පෙළ  සමත්වීමෙන් පසුව හේ ,සිය ප්‍රථම වෘත්තීය දිවිය ටයිම්ස් පත්තර කන්තෝරුවෙන් ආරම්භ කරයි. විවාහ දිනයේ  එච්.ඩී ,සිය භාර්යාව පද්මිණි,දෙදරුවන් වන රේඛා දිලානි සහ රංග ...

OBITUARY – PRASANNA NIMAL WIKRAMANAYAKE. KC (11 August 1933 – 20 December 2023) – By Hugh Karunanayake Nimal Wikramanayake, KC, eminent lawyer and the only Asian born Kings Counsel in Australia, passed away on 20 December at a private nursing home where he was recuperating following surgery. He celebrated his 90th birthday just a few months ago. Born in Colombo as the second son to EG(Guy) Wikramanayake, a leading counsel in Colombo in his day, Nimal schooled at S Thomas College, Mount Lavinia. On leaving school, unlike his elder brother Ranji a well known endocrinologist  in Sydney, Nimal chose to follow in the footsteps of his forefathers.
