Spicy Buttered Cuttlefish Delight – By Malsha – eLanka
Ingredients:
- 500g Cuttlefish
- 2 eggs
- 50g bread flour
- 50g corn flour
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Cooking oil
- 1 tbsp chilli flakes
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- Fish chillies or bell peppers
- 2 onions, sliced into circles
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- Butter
- Sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
Instructions:
- Begin by cleaning the cuttlefish and slicing it into either round or strip shapes. Marinate with a pinch of turmeric powder, salt, chili powder, and a touch of chili powder.
- In a bowl, mix bread flour and corn flour. Dredge the cuttlefish in this mixture after dipping them in beaten egg.
- Fry the coated cuttlefish until golden brown. Set aside.
- In a pot, heat some butter and oil. Sauté crushed garlic and white onion until fragrant.
- Add pieces of chili, chilli powder, a bit of sugar, pepper, and salt. Pour in two tablespoons of water and let it simmer.
- Stir in tomato sauce and soy sauce, then add the fried cuttlefish.
- Toss in sliced tomatoes, onions, and fish chillies or bell peppers. Stir well to combine.
Once cooked, remove from heat and serve hot. Enjoy your spicy buttered cuttlefish delight!
