කතරගම ඓතිහාසික දේවාල පරිශ්‍රය සහ   එහි ආගමික සමෝදානය-by  Gamini Kariyawasam                                Image Source:Katharagama විවිධ ජාතික ආගමික ජනකොටස්  තුළ සංහිදියාවේ ප්‍රබල ආගමික කේන්ද්‍රස්ථානයක් වන කතරගම ඇසළ මහෝත්සවය ,මෙවර ජුලි 15 වන දින ආරම්භවී ජුලි 30 දක්වා පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.මෙම ඇසළ උත්සව සමයේ ,කතරගම   ඓතිහාසික වැදගත්කම සහ කඳ සුරිඳුන් හා සබැඳි අප්‍රකට  තොරතුරු විමසා බැලීමේ ප්‍රයත්නයක්   ලෙසින් මෙම ලිපිය සලකා ගැනීම යෙහෙකි.                  විවිධ ආගමික විශ්වාසයන් හා  දර්ශනයන්  පිළිබදව අන්‍යෝන්‍ය අවබෝධයෙන් යුතුව,විවිධ ජන කොටස්,සංහිදියාවෙන් යුතුව    එක්ව  වත් පිළිවෙත්හි නිරත වන පුජ්‍ය ස්ථානයක් ලෙසින්,කතරගම ඓතිහාසික දේවාල පරිශ්‍රයට   අද්විතීය ස්ථානයක් හිමිවේ.කතරගම ඓතිහාසික දෙවොල ආගමික සමෝදානයේ   (Religious Harmony / Syncretism) කෙන්ද්‍රස්ථානයක් ලෙසින්  නොමද ජන සම්භාවනාවට පාත්‍රවේ.      ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සංස්කෘතික උරුමය පෝෂණය කළ බොහෝ පූජනීය සම්ප්‍රදායන් අතර, කතරගම දෙවියන් වන්දනාමාන කිරීම ප්‍රමුඛ සථානයක් ගනී. වසර දහස් ගණනක් තිස්සේ දිවයිනේ බෞද්ධ, හින්දු, මුස්ලිම් සහ ආදිවාසී වැදි ප්‍රජා වන්දනාකරුවන් ආශිර්වාදය , ආරක්ෂාව, සුවය සහ අධ්‍යාත්මික ප්‍රාර්ථනයන්  ඉටුවීම පතා කතරගම පූජනීය නගරයට පැමින වතාවත්හි නියැළීම  ඉපැරණි චාරිත්‍රයකි. කතරගම මුස්ලිම්වරුන්ට ද  ඉතා ගෞරවනීය ස්ථානයක් බවට පත්ව ඇත්තේ, ඉස්ලාමීය ඇදහිල්ලේ ශුද්ධවන්තයන් එහි පැමිණ වර්තමාන පල්ලිය අසල ජීවත් වූ නිසාත්, මෙම සාන්තුවරයන්ගේ සොහොන් ගෙවල් වන්දනා ස්ථාන බවට පත්ව ඇති නිසාත්ය. විවිධ ආගම්වල ජනයා සමගියෙන් නමස්කාර කරන ලොව පවත්නා  ස්වල්ප ස්ථානවලින් එකක් ලෙස කතරගම දේවාලය කීර්තියට පත්වේ. පුරාණ මූලාරම්භය කතරගම ඉතිහාසය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රාග් ඓතිහාසික යුගය දක්වා දිව යයි. පුරාවිද්‍යාත්මක සොයාගැනීම්වලින් හෙළි වන්නේ වාර්තාගත ශිෂ්ටාචාරයේ පැමිණීමට බොහෝ කලකට පෙර කතරගම අවට ප්‍රදේශය මුල් මානව ජනාවාසවලින් සමන්විත වූ බවයි. මැණික් ගංගා ඉවුරේ පිහිටා ඇති මෙම කලාපය එහි ස්වාභාවික සුන්දර නිසල වන පරිසරය ආගමික ක්‍රියාකාරකම් ,සන්සුන් සිතින් සිදුකර ගැනීමට  අවකාශය සලසාලයි. ආදිවාසී වැදි ජනයා  කතරගම දෙවියන්ගේ මුල්ම වන්දනාකරුවන් විය. ඔවුහු, කතරගම දෙවිදුන් තමන්  සහ තම ජන වර්ගයාට නිවහන වන්නාවූ   වන පියසේ  දිව්‍ය ආරක්ෂකයා ලෙස සැලකූහ. අද  දවසේ පවා, වැදි සිරිත් විරිත් වාර්ෂික ඇසළ උත්සවයේ සුවිශේෂී  අංගයක්  ලෙස ක්‍රියාවට නැගේ. කඳ සුරිඳුන් පිළිබඳව තොරතුරු විමර්ශනයේදී ,එම  සුරිඳුන් ගේ දිවි පෙවෙත  පුළුල් ලෙස සංගෘහිත,මහා පුරාණ ග්‍රන්ථ 18 ට ඇතුළත් ස්කන්ද පුරාණය වෙත විද්වතුන්ගේ වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමුවේ....
