In Australia,s former Liberal Prime Minister John Howard decided, a few years.ago, to have as many unregistered firearms as.possible, handed in, to be disposed of, the reason being that while a much greater percentage of people here understood the handling of these instruments of death, did the right thing registered the unregistered guns and even had them “stored” correctly in their homes, there were a few nut-cases who, feeling very tough with a gun in their hands, went out and killed innocent people. A well- known phrase from the 50’s. I remember it vividly. In the days of Bill Haley & his “Comets”, a very clever “Group” name, rather than names such as the “Sex-Pistols,”, & “Hoobastank” which stank to the heavens, names such as the “Semi-tones”was wisely chosen because this “group”, of which “your’s truly” was the leader, knew full-well that, as they grew older and became even more popular? , than most of the other “groups” around at the time, they would have to sing their songs a “semi-tone” lower, unless they wanted to “yodel”. I direct this one to “Australian Cricket”. For so many years, Australia “ruled the roost” as far as cricket was concerned. The Aussie “elevens” were condidered almost impossible to beat, and it didn’t really matter as to whether they were “Test-matches”, O.D.I’s, or the big-bash 20/20 matches they played. Then, as I have written before, Aussie Cricket Teams, with the possible exception of the Womens’ Cricket Team, seemed to “lose it”.
