SUNDAY CHOICE – GOD WATCHES OVER YOU – by Charles Schokman Psalm 121:5-8 NIV 5 The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. How many times has God protected you that you didn’t even know about? He stopped that car that should have hit you, stopped the person that wanted to harm you, stopped the trouble before it got to you. You never knew anything about it, but His hand of favour, protection, and mercy was watching after you, keeping you from harm’s way. Sure, we can all find reasons to live afraid, worried, uptight. But when you understand Who’s watching after you, Who’s ordering your steps, Who’s fighting your battles, Who’s holding back the darkness, then ...

LOVED & REMEMBERED – By Charles Schokman Image Source : dailymail I am still in shock and deeply saddened at the tragic deaths of Marlene and Doyne Caspersz that occurred on Sunday the 10th March. Investigations have unfolded that the cause of their deaths has been deemed as accidental. To their son Adrian and daughter Jennifer and their families I extend my deepest condolences and pray that God will give you comfort and peace during this sad time in your grief. I came to know Doyne about 75 years ago, that was when he became a member of the Dematagoda Christian Guild Recreation Club and to date we have maintained that glorious friendship. He was an active member and contributed towards the welfare of the Guild. It was at a family gathering that he met Marlene which triggered a romance that led to marriage. On migrating to Australia he did not hesitate to ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – THE CROSS HAS THE FINAL WORD – By Charles Schokman Image Source : facebook THE CROSS HAS THE FINAL WORD Cody Carnes tells of his personal story behind this song. I wrote this song while I was battling with fear, personally, and it dictated the direction of the whole album. The song was written on Good Friday. Although I was dealing with fear, I sat down to read the story of Christ’s crucifixion. As I was reading The Bible, I felt God saying to me “the cross has the final word.” I had this raging sea of emotions inside of me, and that one statement calmed everything in that moment. It reminded me that I don’t have to buy into the lie that evil is rising up. His dying on the cross for our sins has power over death and sin.  I had been thinking about where our ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – Are you weary are you heavy laden?- By Charles Schokman Jesus said–“Be still, and know that I am God;–Psalm 46:10 Are you in anyway troubled in Mind, Body or Spirit? Listen to what Jesus has to say:— God’s Longing To the listening ear I speak, to the waiting heart I come. Sometimes, I may not speak. I may ask you merely to wait in My Presence, to know that I am with you. Think of the multitudes who thronged Me when I was on earth all eager for something. Eager to be healed, or taught, or fed. Think as I supplied their many wants, and granted their manifold requests, what it meant to Me, to find amid the crowd, some one or two, who followed Me just to be near Me, just to dwell in My Presence. How some longing of the Eternal Heart was satisfied thereby. ...
