Western Sydney Hills Community fundraiser for transitional housing for older women – By Padmi Pathinather Source : Padmi Pathinather linkedin I was humbled to be in the presence of Police Commissioner Karen Webb and Dr Michelle Byrne, at the Western Sydney Hills Community fundraiser for transitional housing for older women in support of DV. As a people leader, I’ve witnessed over the years the impacts of DV on society, and the barriers that prevents individuals to reach their true potential. I’m mindful of the impacts to the workforce who may not have access to adequate employee assistance platforms to voice their concerns, and highlights the greater need for government funding to support the much needed programs for women, men and the next generation. Staying connected to community at the grassroots is critical and the partnership between government, organisations, and community leaders is key to unlocking the potential of our society. ...

Seeds – dying to live. – By Aubrey Joachim An International Class Sri Lankan movie portraying true incidents from 475 years ago bearing close resemblance to the current times. Martyrdom has been a part of Christian history from very early years since inception of the Christian faith. A martyr is a person who is willing to sacrifice their life for a particular belief or for spreading their faith against specific sentiment. The first recorded martyrs were Christians murdered by Emperor Nero in AD 64 for their firm Christian beliefs and teachings. SUNDAY CHOICE A Tribute to Mothers – By Charles Schokman Unconditional Love of a Mother. What does this mean? “The greatest power known to man is that of unconditional love. Through the ages, mystics, sages, singers and poets have all expressed the ballad and call to love. As humans, we have searched endlessly for the experience of love through the outer senses. Great nations have come and gone under the guise of love for their people. Religions have flourished and perished while claiming the true path to love. We, the people of this planet, may have missed the simplicity of unconditional love. . .  “Simply stated, unconditional love is an unlimited way of being. We are without any limit to our thoughts and feelings in life and can create any reality we choose to focus our attention upon. There are infinite imaginative possibilities when we allow the freedom to go beyond ...

What should you know about ‘Autoimmune Disorders? – By Dr harold Gunatillake When the body becomes its own enemy, our immune system instead of stopping foreign invaders from harming the body, makes the body the enemy and causes harm instead. So in Autoimmune disorders, the enemy is within your body. On a basic level, autoimmune disease occurs because the body’s natural defenses — the immune system — attack the body’s own healthy tissue A healthy immune system defends the body against disease and infection and prevents it from harming the body. Sometimes it makes the body the enemy and may cause harm instead. Normally, the immune system is a complex network of organs, cells, and proteins that defends the body against infection, whilst protecting the body’s own cells. The immune system keeps a record of every germ (microbe) it has ever defeated so it can recognize and destroy the microbe ...

It was originally built as a tabernacle in 1892 and later became the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Many legendary country music artists, including Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash, performed on the Ryman stage during the Opry’s residency there. In 1974, the Grand Ole Opry moved to its current location, the Grand Ole Opry House, due to the need for a larger venue to accommodate its growing popularity. The Opry House was specifically designed and built to meet the needs of the Opry, and it has since become an iconic symbol of country music. While the Ryman Auditorium is no longer the home of ...
