It is developed from the Chinese art form of penjing. Bonsai uses cultivation technology like pruning, root reduction, potting, deformation and grafting. The Sri lanka Bonsai association had an exhibition a month back where many specimens owned by association members were displayed. Some of the specimens were 10 plus years old ,that shows the dedication towards the art. DMT allows tuk-tuks to modify at a cost-by Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama Source:Dailymirror The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) today granted permission allowing three-wheelers to have certain appliances fitted to trishaws, such as decorations, etc., DMT Commissioner General Nishantha Anurudda Weerasinghe said. The permission was granted based on continuous discussions with three-wheeler associations and according to the Motor Traffic Act. The permission came into effect on Monday (10). Accordingly, DMT allows the modification of three-wheelers under thirty categories with a maximum charge of Rs. 2,500 and a minimum of Rs. 500, which some of the categories come under, without a payment. ...

While Colombo has direct air connectivity with several Indian cities, another destination in the country is set to receive daily service from India – Jaffna.
