The conglomerate recorded a significant increase on its profit before tax (PBT) of Rs. 7.2 billion compared to a loss of Rs. 467 million a year ago. Data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed that tourist arrivals from 1 to 11 August totalled 16,643. The total arrivals from 1 January to 11 August is 475, 131. It is likely for Sri Lanka to reach the half a million mark in visitor arrivals by the end of August provided no new issues erupt in the island nation’s already crisis-hit economy.
